Nancy Jean Gragnani was born to Claude and Beverly Sharp. She grew up in Santa Cruz and graduated from Harbor High School in 1975. While in high school, Nancy participated in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, where her passion for community service and philanthropic work started. As part of that organization, she was a Past Worthy Advisor of Cabrillo Assembly #249. She later served at the state level as the Grand Confidential Observer as one of the Merry Minnies of 1974-1975. Nancy moved to Kerman, where she met and married Russell Gragnani in 1982.

Nancy was a teacher in the Kerman Unified School District for 25 years and a member of the Kerman United Methodist Church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude H. Sharp and Beverly Buster Sharp. She is survived by her brother, William Sharp; her husband of 37 years, Russell Gragnani; her children, Layci Gragnani and Kelsey Quijano; her husband, Matt Gragnani; and her grandchildren, Tessa, Rylee, and a future grandson.
