Dwaine Melvin Porter passed away December 9th, 2018 at the age of 64 after battling cancer. He was born November 28, 1954 to Reginald and Geraldine Allison Porter in Los Angeles, CA.

Dwaine spent most of his childhood in Weston, ID. He graduated from West Side High School in Dayton, ID. Dwaine served in the Army from 1973-1975. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Dwaine loved hunting and being outdoors. He enjoyed wood working, taking care of his animals, and fixing up his home. He was always kind to everyone and there weren’t many people he didn’t like.

He is survived by his love Brenda Pitcher of Preston. His father Reginald Hyde Porter of Preston. His children Jeremyah and Angie Porter of Smithfield, Maria Wallace of Logan, LaDawn Floyd of Murray, and Shurie Bailey of Logan. Dwaine was blessed with 8 grandchildren. Thanks to the staff at Signature Home Health and that one special nurse for the amazing care Dwaine received.

Funeral services were conducted Friday December 14, 2018 at the new Franklin County Funeral Home at 56 S. State street in Preston. Friends called Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services. Burial was in the Preston Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary.
