Lyle - The funeral for Mrs. Ira VanGundy, 76, native of the Lyle community north of Norcatur, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, the Rev. Marion Holbert officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at the Lyle Cemetery.
Mrs. VanDundy was born in 1879, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Lenn Andrews. In 1897 she married Ira VanGundy. They began their married life on a farm in that community.
They retired from the farm in 1923 and moved to California where Mr. VanGundy died several years ago. Mrs. VanGundy is survived by three sons and four daughters: Archie, Lyle; Mrs. Opal Jones, Corning, Calif.; Sam, Maricopa, Calif.; Mrs. Violet Nye, Colfax; Mrs. Rose Lund, Eureka, Calif.; H.B., Monrovia, Calif.; and Mrs. Ruth Dean, Covina, Calif.
