RUSTON, LA - Byrd Lee Terry, Sr. was born at Mt. Lebanon (Bienville Parish) on July 10, 1929 to Byrd L. Terry and Myrtle Jones Terry. He enjoyed the history of that area as his ancestors were the early settlers. He attended the public schools in Gibsland, LA and graduated from Centenary College with a degree in speech and a Master of Divinity from Emory University. Byrd began his ministry in Hilly and Salem Communities and served churches in St. Fracesville, Bernice, DeQuincy, Vivian, Monroe, Haynesville, Winnfield and Ruston. He loved God, Church, Family and the Ministry. He was always involved in Civic Organizations as well as local schools where he was serving as Pastor.

Rev. Terry is survived by: wife, Janice Nobles Terry; sons: Lee Gregory Terry and wife Donna; John Bradoford Terry and Fiance" Christi Dickerson; grandchildren: Ashley, Tyler, Justin, and Ellie; cousins: Lynnwoof and Betty Burkhalter and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Rev. Terry's life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Officiating will be Rev. Fred Wideman, Rev. Rolly Walker and Rev. Jimmy Pyles. Interment to follow at Salem Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston, LA.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Louisiana Conference of Methodist Ministers and The Ruston Kiwanis Club.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston, LA.
