Hazel was born June 15, 1952 to Harvie and Alice West, in Leavenworth, Kansas. She married Gary Mullins January 11, 1973. Together they had four children Tessa, Barney, Rachel and Stephanie.

For many years she worked as a waitress at El Tampico in Leavenworth and later became the owner. In 1995 Hazel, her husband and two youngest daughters made the move back to Kingfisher. She worked as a waitress at City Cafe. She loved the daily interactions with the customers and formed lasting friendships with many of them. Later on she gave up waitressing to be a care giver, which she also loved doing. She officially retired so that she could spend her time traveling to be with her grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved being a Nana. She loved not only her grandchildren but her children, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She had a special bond with each of them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Mullins. Her grandson, Derek Drennon. Her sister and brother in law Roy Lee and Barbara Stevens. Her sister, Deloris Redwine. Her niece, Michelle Stevens.

She is survived by her children and 9 grand children, Ryan, Taylor, Dawson, Maggie, Allison, Kendall, Abigail, Eli and Elijah. 2 great grandsons Cash and Cason. Her sisters Darlene Brown and Midge McAlvain. Her brother, Bud West.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 10:30am at Kingfisher Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Kingfisher Cemetery.
