Thursday the 12th inst. marked the close of the life of one of the most highly esteemed young people of our community, Miss Hattie Peterson, aged 19, who has been suffering, with bronchial trouble, having passed away at that time. She was the fourth daughter of the late Axel Peterson, her mother being a daughter of V. S. Garrett, one of the island’s pioneers, but now a resident of Egg Harbor. Hattie was a bright cheerful companion, much loved and respected by all her acquaintances. The young people of this place as well as her mother and other relatives will feel her, loss very much. The funeral was held in Bethel church, Rev. J. D. McElroy officiating.
