Amanda Bollmeyer, born 1871, d. 1941.The Anthon Herald, 29 March 1944, page 1: Louis Bollmeyer was born September 11, 1874, in Hanover Province, Germany and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1891 he emigrated to New York City, New York. On April 9, 1898, he married Amanda Koster. The next fall with their infant daughter they came to Woodbury Co., Iowa, where they farmed over a period of years. six more children blessed their union and one preceded him in death as an infant. About three years ago Mrs. Bollmeyer passed away; then he, his daughter Charlotte, and his son Wilburt continued farming until Wilburt was called to the army. Last spring he purchased a residence in Anthon where he and his daughter made their home. Mr. Bollmeyer became ill about 30 days ago and was taken March 10 to a Sioux City hospital where he passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 22, 1944, at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 11 days. He is survived by four daughters, Charlotte at home, Mrs. Reinhold Bottjen of Ida Grove, Mrs. Ernest Rossow of Anthon and Mrs. Alfred Sand of Danbury; two sons, Edwin of Merrill and Wilburt, in the service; six grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services wer conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Midway following brief rites at the home an hour earlier. Rev. C.F. Gottberg officiated, and burial was in the Midway Cemetery beside his wife. Funeral arrangements were under direction of Hudgel's Funeral Service.
