Louisa Regina Klaudt Ulmer, 91 years, 2 months and 28 days, of Sutton, Clay County, NE, died December 24, 1987, in Henderson, York, NE.

Mrs. Ulmer was born September 27, 1896, to Johann and Jacobina Matthauses Klaudt in Greenway, McPherson, ND. She attended a rural there. She was united in marriage to Gottlob J. Ulmer on October 21, 1921, in Ashley, McIntosh, ND. To this union nine children were born, three sons and six daughters. She also had five stepchildren, four stepsons, and a stepdaughter. She and her husband farmed south of Stockham and later southwest of Sutton, NE. In 1948, they retired from farming and moved into Sutton. She had resided in the Sutton Community Home since 1967. She was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church and the Ladies Aid of the Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gottlob J. on November 28, 1963, her parents, Johann and Jacobina Matthaues Klaudt, stepfather Martin Wudel, stepson Benjamin Ulmer, infant son Ernst Heinrich Ulmer, granddaughter Diane Kay Becker, grandson Dale LeRoy Ulmer and daughter Anna Margaret Ulmer Becker, respectively.

At the time of her passing, she was survived by four stepchildren and seven children, stepdaughter-in-law and stepson-in-law: stepson Ruben (Vera) of Hastings, NE, stepson Freidhold (Geneice) of Sutton, NE, stepdaughter Ruth (William) Chadwick of Aurora, CO, stepdaughter-in-law Irene, (Benjamin's widow) of Sutton, NE, stepson Milton (Esther) Ulmer of Northridge, CA, son-in-law Paul Becker (Anna Margaret's widower) of Harvard, NE, Esther (Roy) Willis of Houston, TX, Herbert Donald (Myrna) of Sutton, NE, Mary Ann (George) Schafer of Gilbert, AZ, Doris Smith of Fort Worth, TX, Louise Mae (Donald) Hoffmann, of Pierce, NE, Jeanette Rose, of Omaha, NE and Robert Paul (Betty Ann) Ulmer of Edina, MN.

She has 27 surviving grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 29, 1987, at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton, NE. She was interned in the Sutton Cemetery.

Special music was provided by soloist Rose Fehr, and organist Rich Reichert.

Pallbearers were Virgil David Ulmer, Eugene Ray Ulmer, LaVerne Lyle Ulmer, Eric Ross Ulmer, Kevin Dale Ulmer and David Mark Hoffmann.
