Marvin M Bednar, 76-year-old resident of Brainerd (South Long Lake), died at his home Friday March 15th. He was born December 6th, 1942 to Robert and Catherine (Motschke) Bednar, the 10th of 11 children. Marvin married Katherine "Kitty" (Stoss) May 7th, 1960 at Saint Mathias Catholic Church. Together they raised 2 daughters and 1 son and were married 49 years.
Marvin worked for H.C. Osvold Company, Plywood Minnesota, and later owned Marv's Top Fab. He specialized in custom formica work, designing kitchens and bathrooms. Marvin enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and camping. He also enjoyed raising pheasants, wild turkeys, and peacocks. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kitty, parents Robert and Catherine Bednar, brothers Jerome Bednar, Roman Bednar, Ron Bednar, and sisters Evelyn (Bednar) Czech, Deloris (Bednar) Finch.
He will be missed beyond measure by his daughters Linda Thompson, Cindy (Jeff) Fleischhacker, and son Dan (Kim) Bednar. Grandchildren Reece Thompson, Kyle Thompson, Matthew Fleischhacker, Megan (Louis) Schlegel, Kristin Bednar, Johnathan Bednar, and William Bednar. Great grandchildren Waylon Roscoe, Kaiser Bednar, and Arthur Schlegel. Siblings Loraine Reese, Ernie (Gayle) Bednar, Jim Bednar, Lou Rademacher, and Maryanne George.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at the Saint Mathias Pavilion on May 11th at 11:00am. Arrangements with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home.
