Charles Ray Crittenden was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 24, 1947. He was the 4th child born to the late Darlene Evans Critton and Sammy (Big Doc) Critton. Charles received Christ at an early age where he united with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Haynesville, Louisiana and remained a faithful member until his health failed. He attended public school in Claiborne parish.

On Monday, April 22, 2019, Charles Ray Crittenden was called home to sweet peace and eternal rest. Awaiting his arrival are his parents, Three brothers, and one sister, his son, and a grandson. His passing brought great sadness to the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

Charles was united in holy matrimony with Lenora Evans Crittenden, and to this union four children were born, one preceded him in death. Myrhonda Turner (Michael), Cassandra Crawford (Donald) both of Haynesville, and Stanley Crittenden of Boston, MA. Rhonda Jones of El Dorado, AR. Eight grandchildren; James Bowens, Lavonte Jones, Brandon Waller, & LaSteven Waller of El Dorado, AR, Mykeyah Evans of Magnolia, AR, Naeisha Jackson of Monroe, LA, Michael Turner II & Miguel Turner of Haynesville, LA five great grand children, three sisters Annie Robinson (John), Linda Ruth Beene (Robert), & Linda Sue Critton all of Haynesville, LA, one brother; Thomas Critton of Haynesville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, many friends.
