He loved bluegrass music and in his retirement years he enjoyed nothing better than attending festivals and joining in jam sessions with his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Blaine, Sr., and Bertha Quesenberry Dickerson and two brothers, Roby and Oscar Dickerson.
