SHREVEPORT, LA - Hazel Mays Ledbetter died Sunday, February 3, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9th from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, Jackson, MS. Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Ledbetter was a native of Pinson, TN and a resident of Jackson, MS for 66 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS and the United Daughters of Confederacy.

Mrs. Ledbetter was preceded in death by her husband, Colquit Jerome Ledbetter and one brother, William Edgar Mays.

She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Ledbetter Cooper and her husband, Dr. S. Kit Cooper; three grandchildren, Mike Cooper, New Orleans, LA, Melissa Cooper McDonald and her husband, Sam of Boston, MA, Erin Cooper, Baton Rouge, LA; one godson, Jerry Brewer, Wesson, MS; great-grandchild, Maddyn McDonald, Boston, MA; one sister, Jessie Alderman, Jackson, MS; and one brother, Hubert Mays, Jackson, MS.
