Martha Katherine Bowman, 94, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Born May 3, 1924 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. Estes and Mary Kern Estes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Bowman; two daughters, Linda K. Bowman and Mary Virginia Bowman; one brother John D. Estes; and two sisters, Virginia E. VanMetre and Nellie McCallister.

She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and was a member of the Honor Society. She retired from the IRS. She was a member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Rath of Martinsburg; two granddaughters, Mary Kathryn Rath and Brianna Rath and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Sunday April 28, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Services were held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor John Lewis officiating.

Burial was made in Butler's Chapel Cemetery.
