Nicholas Ferdinand Hobson III was born on May 10, 1907 in Tennessee, the son of Nicholas Ferdinand Hobson Jr (1882–1943) and Clytie (Biddle) Hobson.
An artist living at 892 Murfreesboro Road in rural Davidson County, he was 43 years old, single and had infantile paralysis due to polio myelitis, and he died at home on March 27, 1951 of chronic myocarditis. Burial was the next day in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
