He was very proud to serve his country in the early sixties, where he was stationed in Germany. His rank was Sargent when discharged from the Army. When he returned home, he made his living driving trucks for a profession that ran in his family and is still carried on by his nephew, Shane Belcher. He worked for the City of Denton and later for Denton County which he retired from in 2009. In retirement he enjoyed doing things with family and building models. He had a passion for models.
In 1995 he married Barbara Gore. They were able to share almost 24 wonderful years together.
J.C. is survived by his wife, Barbara Belcher, two daughters, Mandy Belcher of Gordonville, Nikki Garland and husband Mark of Sherman, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two step-sons, Dan Williams and wife, Shelley and Dennis Williams and wife Buffie all of Keller, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sister, Virginia Risler and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 9:30 A.M. at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
