February 1963 — Passage. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Levan L.D.S. Ward Chapel for John Robert Williams, 14, who died near the family home in Mills Friday afternoon of electrocution when the wire attached to a kite he and a brother flying came into contract with a high-tension electrical transmission wire.

The Levan Ward Bishopric conducted the impressive services. Interment was at the Vine Bluff cemetery at Nephi.

Artificial respiration by men who were at the Williams home for an Irrigation Company meeting, and prolonged use of the Nephi Fire Department resuscitator failed to revive the young man.

John Robert Williams was born at Payson March 3, 1948, a son of Harlin and Louise John Williams. He attended elementary school at Levan and was a student at the ninth grade of the Junior High School at Nephi. He was active in the Aaronic Priesthood of the Levan Ward.

Surviving are his parents of Mills; four brothers and two sisters: Russell, Ted, Tax, Mark, Ellen and JoAnn Williams, all of Mills; and by a grandfather, Ernest Johnson of American Fork.
