Bud was born in Noel, McDonald Co., MO to Ernest E. and Courtney Himegartdner Puryear. The family moved to Stanislaus Co., CA when he was 7 years old and he had resided there since except for a tour of duty in Korea and two tours in Viet Nam while in the military.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest E. Puryear.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Pelletier Puryear; a son Floyd "Guy" Puryear and wife, Sharon; four daughters; Darlene Puryear Coop and her husband, Mike;, Gina M. Larsen and her husband, Eric, and Krystal and Shelly Puryear; grandchildren, Jason and Jacob Puryear, Melissa A. and Amber M. Coop, Sarah Beach, Shurie Campbell and Adam Campbell and two step-sons; his mother, Courtney Himegartdner Puryear; sisters, Vivian Puryear Almand, Kate Puryear Boots, and Sue Puryear Cole; and brother Melvin Puryear.
A graveside service with honor guard will be held on Wednesday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m.
