Forrest Knox Abbott, 81, of Cayce, was the beloved husband of Katherine Dolores Tarver Abbott, and was a son of the late Mayor Samuel Knox Abbott and Edith Cayce Abbott from whose forebears the town of Cayce is named after. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of Congaree Presbyterian Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. During his lifetime, he served on the Columbia Metropolitan Airport Commission for 4 decades and served as Chairman of the Commission for 8 years. He was an organizer and member of the board of directors of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Cayce.

Member of the Board of Directors of The Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta for 8 years, including two years as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He retired after practicing law for 50 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Katherine T. Abbott; son, James T. Abbott; daughters, Robin A. Eubanks and, Katherine A. Luvis; and four beautiful grandchildren, Angeles and Sam Eubanks, Katherine and Elizabeth Abbott. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann A.
