Darlene Fay (Hotek) Banwart was born on November 27, 1939 alongside her twin sister to parents Vencil and Zola (Ward) Hotek in Lehigh, IA. She went on to graduate from Fort Dodge Beauty Academy.
Darlene married Franklin Banwart in Bode, IA on August 24, 1958. To this union, four children were born: Brian, Patti, Lisa, and Thomas. The couple enjoyed 54 years together until Frank's death in 2013.
