MRS. C. O. MAYFIELD
DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Effie J. Mayfield, 54 years of age, wife of C. O. Mayfield, died at the Mayfield residence, 836 Atchison street, at 1:10 o'clock this morning, following a long period of ill health.
Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist church, of which she was a faithful member, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by the Rev. W. O. Shank. The body will be sent to Eldon, Mo., Friday morning, leaving Atchison at 5:20 a. m., and will be buried in the Livingston cemetery, near Eldon.
Mrs. Mayfield, was Effie J. Sipe before her marriage, and was born in Pennsylvania April 5, 1873. She was married to Mr. Mayfield in Miller county, Mo., October 23, 1895. They moved to Kansas from Miller county twelve years ago, and lived near Everest for some time before coming to Atchison. Mr. Mayfield is employed at the Blish, Mize & Silliman Hardware Co.
Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mayfield, including twin girls. Four of them died in infancy, and the other two passed away within two years after birth.
Mrs. Mayfield is survived by her husband; three sisters, and a brother.
Pall bearers for the funeral services tomorrow will be A. A. Bennett, F. J. Cole, Sam Gelwick, Frank Johnson, Joe Taylor and Henry Mester.
