It is with great sorrow that the family of Lucille Stewart Ansline announces her passing on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Lucille was born in Morgantown, WV on May 2, 1930. She was one of four daughters born to Clarence and Ruth Stewart. Two of her sisters have preceded her in death, as well as her parents. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Luana Sue Ansline.

She is survived by one sister, Adeline Firlie, Severn, MD. and by the love of her life, Anthony (Bud) Ansline. They have been married for 67 years. They met 70 years ago when she was in nursing training at Monongalia General Hospital. Lucille and Bud have two daughters, Catherine Hammond (Bill Crane), Morganton, NC, Mary Richards (Stephen), Elkins, WV and one son, Louis (Lou) Ansline, Clarksburg, WV. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lucille was kind, caring and lived her life giving to others. She had a nursing degree from Monongalia General Hospital School of Nursing with extra training from WVU and the University of Pittsburg Children’s Hospital. While employed at Fairmont General Hospital (Fairmont Regional Medical Center) she was a surgical staff nurse, medical and surgical floor staff nurse, and relief floor head nurse.

Health care was her passion. She took great pride in supplying health care information to friends and family. She served on Fairmont General Hospital Board of Directors from 1984-1990. She was a volunteer at Fairmont General Hospital for almost 30 years and was honored several times as “Volunteer of the Month.” She served two terms as President of the Volunteer Association. She was also elected to several committee chairmanships. In 1989 and until recently, Mrs. Ansline collected the written history of the hospital, dating back to the Cook Hospital days, to put into scrap books. Lucille also volunteered at Fairmont General Hospital Blood Bank.

For 50 years she helped Bud run Ansline Trucking Company by doing all office responsibilities to include taking orders and dispatching drivers.

Mrs. Ansline was loyal member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

The family received friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Vigil rites were on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. with Sister Stella Cronauer.

A Catholic Funeral Liturgy was held Monday, April 22, 2019 at the church at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jojan Joseph as celebrant.

Burial was made in Dents Run Cemetery in Morgantown.
