ANACONDA -- Beloved father, “Papa” and brother, Ernie Huot, passed unexpectedly but peacefully on April 16, 2019. He was born Ernest Harold Huot to Virginia (Hanson) and Henry G. Huot on November 14, 1960 in Anaconda, MT. Ernie was very close with his mother and credited her with everything he knew.

Ernie graduated from Trapper Creek Job Corps in Darby in 1980, specializing in welding and fabrication. He was a very hard worker. Ernie attended two years at The University of Montana to study art, focusing on painting and sculpture. He was also a jeweler, goldsmith and gemologist for Church Jewelers in Missoula for four years. He worked for AFFCO in Anaconda for 11 years until his retirement in 2016.

Ernie was always a kid at heart and loved teaching. He was the greatest cook. He loved to barbeque and bake. He was very creative and could fix anything or make anything. Ernie had an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He loved the outdoors and animals. He also loved listening to music and scenic drives in the mountains.

Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Henry G. Huot; his brother, Peter “Mickey” Huot; and his mother, Virginia (Hanson) Huot.

Ernie is survived by his daughter, Katie Huot; his granddaughter, Addisyn Huot; his sister, Mary Jo (Roger) Fortner; his brother, Henry Huot; nieces, Sandy Huot, Saffron Huot, and Sage Huot; as well as his daughter’s mother, Carla Marshall along with countless friends and extended family.

A Celebration of Life potluck luncheon will be held on Sunday, June 16th, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Croatian Hall in Anaconda.
