"Lois J. Bracken,61, of Rt. 2, Covington, died at 4 pm Monday in United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, at Danville, Ill., after an extended illness.

Mrs. Bracken was a Wallace High School graduate and attended Benson Chapel United Methodist Church. She had been employed for 27 years at Hurletron Altair at Danville.

She was born July 5, 1932, near Wallace to Byron R. and Edith Coffeen Allen. She married William G. Bracken Sept. 8, 1962, at Cates. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Diana) Spiering of Covington; four sons, Everett Plunkett of Williamsport, Edward Plunkett of Covington, Donald Bracken of Huntsville, Ala., and Ronald Bracken of Vicennes; a sister, Helen Brown of Tilton, Ill.; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday in Shelby Funeral Home with James Shaw and Tom Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home."
