Hazel Fern Salter Wood, age 83, passed away on April 14, 2019.
Hazel was born February 11, 1936, in East Mountain, Texas to Samuel Salter and Nellie Salter. Hazel married Bennie B. Wood of Texarkana, Texas on August 17, 1957, in Longview. Texas.
She was preceded in death by Samuel Salter (Father), Nellie Salter (Mother), Pamela Marie Pleasant (Daughter), Joel Salter (Brother), Robert Salter (Brother), Gladys Nation (Sister), Elizabeth Leith (Sister), and Daisy Binford (Sister).
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bennie B. Wood of Mineral Wells, Texas; her daughter, Thresha Jones of Bloomburg, Texas; son, Tim Wood of Ranger, Texas; seven grandchildren, Zach Alford and wife Tamra, Emily Estes and husband David, Lance Wood and wife Makayla, Layla Watts and husband Aaron, Breanne Porter, Hollie and Keri Pleasant; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Leith of Redwater, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be Monday, April 15, 2019, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in East Mountain Cemetery, East Mountain, Texas.
