Allen Goss
June 25, 1939 - March 31, 2019

Allen Goss, 79, of Granbury, was peacefully welcomed home by his Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Memorial service: 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 7, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury.
Allen was born on June 25, 1939 in Muleshoe, Texas to Elbert and Elsie Faye Goss. He joined the Navy after high school, serving four years stationed out of Florida. He was able to travel all over the world during that time, and said that Spain was one of his favorite destinations.
While in the Navy, he married Linda Clements and had his first son, Bryan. After the Navy, he and Linda moved to Tyler, and he went to work for GE. He eventually moved on to TI in Dallas where he began a long, successful career as an engineer. He and Linda eventually divorced and Allen met Comelia Stephens. They married in 1970 and bought a home in Plano, TX. They began splitting their time between Pittsburg, TX and Charleston, TX to be with both of their families. Family was everything to Allen, so there was a lot of time spent driving to East Texas. Angie was born in 1973, and Greg came along in 1975 to complete their family. After 17 years at TI, Allen decided to make a change and spent the next 15 years working as an engineer in the nuclear business. Allen and Comelia moved to Granbury in 1987 and have been there ever since.
Allen always loved being outdoors, learning new things and expanding his list of hobbies which included martial arts, golf, fishing, hunting, archery, photography, rebuilding car engines (which he learned from his father), tinkering with just about anything electronic or mechanical, and every do-it-yourself project you can imagine from repainting a room to building a house and the list goes on! During a short move to North Carolina, he came very close to earning his pilot’s license. He moved back to Texas before he finished his hours, but he always loved flying. He was amazing on a pair of roller skates much to his daughter’s surprise. He could water ski slalom like a pro. He could fix just about anything and what he couldn’t fix he could build. He read physics books because he found them interesting and loved the History and Discovery channels. Most of all, he was the best daddy ever!
Allen is survived by his wife of 49 years, Comelia Goss, children: Bryan Goss and wife Lisalee, Angie Goss, Gregory Goss and Beth Kadar, siblings: Lynn Goss and wife Pattie, Carol Daily and Patricia Disman, brother by choice Wayne Burdette, and children by choice Cody Pickett and Brian Strickland. He also leaves behind his constant furry companion Reni.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Elsie Faye Goss, his brother Sammy Goss, his father and mother in-law Etheredge and Mary Alice Stephens, and numerous sisters and brothers in-law whom he loved dearly.
