RITES WEDNESDAY FOR W. M. COOK WITH BURIAL AT DRESDEN

Funeral rites for W. M. (Bud) Cook, aged 83 years, who died at the family residence, 418 West Fifth avenue, Monday night, were held from the Corley Funeral Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.

Burial was in the Dresden Cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. L. W. Shivers of Lewisville and Rev. Rose of Athens.

A native of Rusk county, Texas, Cook went to Henderson county when three years of age and resided there until 1892 when he came to Navarro county.

A member of the Navarro County Democratic executive committee for about 30 years, Cook was a prominent political figure in Navarro county.

He resided in the Black Hills community until a few years ago.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Jesse, Willie and Ernest Cook; two daughters, Mrs. Otis Steward and Mrs. Harvey Davis, all of Corsicana; a brother, Jesse C. Cook, Denison; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Carpenter, Post, and Mrs. Jimmie Rogers, Athens; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Walter Hamilton, A. T. Smith, C. V. Breithaupt, O. S. Rich, Dick Dixon and G. C. Poarch.

Funeral Rites for Mr. Cook On Wednesday

Funeral services for William Cook, 83, who died at his home in corsicana Monday night, were held Wednesday, October 6, (sic) at 2:30 o'clock at the Corley Funeral Chapel in that city.

The service were (sic) conducted by the Rev. L.W. Shivers of Lewisville and the Rev. L.D. Rose of Athens. Burial was in the Dresden Cemetery.

Mr. Cook was a native of Rusk County, and was reared near Eustace in Henderson County. He lived in this county from the age of three until he moved to Navarro County in 1892.

He was election judge and member of the Navarro County Democratic Executive Committee at Black Hills for more than 30 years, and was long prominent in political and other circles until he moved from Black Hills a few years ago.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Jesse, Willie and Ernest Cook; two daughters, Mrs. Otis Steward and Mrs. Harvey Davis, all of corsicana; one brother, Jesse C. Cook of Dennison; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Carpenter, Post, and Mrs. Jimmie Rogers of Athens; and 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
