Omer was born March 1, 1914 in Belgium. The family were unable to leave Europe because of the impending WWI. In 1920 they returned to Martin Prairie/the Pritchard area. His recent memories and stories were of that area. In 1932 the family purchased the BX Ranch, this move involved a well remembered 3 day cattle drive, horse trailing and introcucation to the Vernon area. Farming, cowboying and family filled his life for the next 73 years on several BX area farms. He was happiest growing vegetables, fruit, hay, cattle and always needed a favorite horse to ride. He ws so fortunate to have the love of 2 wives and a close small family. He cherished his family and the friendship of many. A special thank to Dr. William Cawkell, the Vernon Jubilee Hospital and the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House and staff. A funeral service was held from the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2, 2005 with burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Arrangements entrusted to PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME
