He enlisted in the Army on April 17, 1943 in Albany, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of miscellaneous products and also as Single, with dependents.
Louis died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident during the war.
Louis was killed when the train he was riding on crashed in Robeson County, North Carolina. He was returning home to be with his wife as she gave birth to their baby. Four days later, they had a son.
