Henrietta A. "Caty" (Schwanke) Lieswald was born to her loving caring parents Johann W. "John" and Friedericke (Zander) Schwanke on Monday May 25, 1874 in the State of Nebraska. My research found no information on Henrietta's childhood or schooling. Henrietta was united in marriage to Emil Lieswald Sr. on Tuesday March 6, 1894 at her parent's home near Snyder, Dodge County by Rev. Flach. The couple were blessed with three sons and two daughters. They lived on farms at Dodge and Stanton counties, then moved to Oklahoma, then back to Holt County Nebraska to retire. They celebrated their golden anniversary on Saturday March 4, 1944 at the Lutheran Church at Chambers, Holt County. A dinner was served in the church basement to about a hundred fifty guests, with twenty eight of the guests being at the bridal table. The table was decorated in gold and yellow, centered on the table was their anniversary cake baked by their daughter. Their four grandchildren were waitresses. Pastor Schibacker delivered words and special readings, and songs were done by the choir. The honored couple were presented with a purse and many other gifts. A supper was later served at their home. Sadly Henrietta passed on Sunday January 6, 1952 at the age of 77 years, 7 months, 12 days which does not include her last day, she lived a total of 28,349 days. My research found no information on Henrietta's funeral. Henrietta was interred in the Chambers Cemetery. Henrietta's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Henrietta by Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed. Many details are still missing from her life, if you have any more details I will be happy to edit the additional information into this biography. Please send your info to me at my email address [email protected]
