Bath County Democrat, 29 Dec 1898, Thu 29 Dec 1898; Miss Bettie Jouett died of the infirmities of old age on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Funeral Thursday by Rev. J.L. Irvine. Burial at Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling. Deceased had resided here with her sister, [Mary] Lou[isa] [Jouett] Lacy, the only surviving member of her father's family for some years past, but prior to the death of her brother, [Mitchell] Haden Jouett, had resided in Mt. Sterling for many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Elizabeth is not known to have married. Her age of "80" cited above is likely an approximation. Her parents were married 22 Dec 1818, hence her presumed birth year of late 1819.
