Howard C. Bozeman, 73, of Huntsville died Wednesday at Huntsville Hospital after a brief illness. Howard was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to Howard Claude Bozeman and Marguerite Barcus Bozeman. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in building construction. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and moved to Huntsville in 1958. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Construction Specification Institute. For the past 30 years, he had a distinguished career at the Marshall Space Flight Center. Howard was an accomplished musician on many instruments and enjoyed playing with several local bands, specializing in Irish music. He served his community through Boy Scout leadership, was past president of the Huntsville Jaycees, and was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Janet Jones Bozeman; two sons, Charlie Bozeman and wife Barbara, Jimmy Bozeman and wife, Tina, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Barbara Bozeman Phillips of Tallahassee, FL; his sister, Linda Bozeman of Leesburg, FL; and brother, William Franklin "Bill" Bozeman of Atlanta, GA and two step-children, Justina Ann Franks Goodwin and Gerald Wayne "Sonny" Franks, Jr., both of Huntsville. He leaves eight grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at Valhalla Funeral Home with Rev. Luke Ponder officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
