Born on Nov. 7, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Gray, Sr. and Doris (Alburtis) Swain.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachelle; and a brother, Kenneth Gray Jr.
Tonya retired from Gordons Jewelry as an Area and District Manager in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Florida.
Tonya was an avid gardener and loved her arts and crafts.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with and entertaining her family.
She was Catholic by faith and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her loving son, James Root; grand-daughters, Alex and Chelsea; and great-grandchildren, Paris, Duke, and Denver.
At her request, Tonya's remains were donated to the military for scientific research.
