Mrs. Becky Powell Dreggors, age 55, of the New Branch Community, died Monday, April 1, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and lived in New Branch for the past twelve years. She was a 1981 graduate of Lyons Senior High School and a 1982 graduate of Swainsboro Technical College. Soon after graduation, she started her career as a licensed practical nurse. Becky nursed at Tattnall Memorial in Reidsville, and later entered into correctional medicine at Georgia State Prison in Reidsville and retired from Treutlen Probation Detention Center with a combined thirty-seven years in nursing. Becky was a member of the Hammonds Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and watching Turner Classic Movies. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery L. Powell.

Mrs. Dreggors is survived by her husband, David B. Dreggors of New Branch; four children, William “Will” Anderson and wife Kimberly of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Hayley N. Wilkinson and husband Brenden of Portsmouth, Virginia, Sara M. Howard and husband Patrick of Pelham, and Samuel W. Dreggors and wife Caitlyn of Sale City; her parents, Leonard Powell, Jr. and Mozelle Powell of Lyons; two sisters, Candace Powell Brown and husband Fred of Reidsville, and Tina Powell Edwards and husband Phillip “Rooster” of Lyons; eight grandchildren and two nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
