Decatur-Larry E. Manns, 62, of Decatur died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his residence. Larry was born on December 05, 1949 in Brownsville, TN the son of Velma (Parish) and Sam Mann. He married the former Marvell Clark on April 1, 1970. Larry worked as a carman for Northfolk and Southern for over 30 years. He was a member of Life Changers Church under the leadership of Bishop G.E. Livingston. He also was a sponsor for AA in Decatur where he touched and inspired many lives. Larry never met a stranger his presence here on earth will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife of 41 years, Marvell Manns of Decatur; sons: Lamont Wells of Kansas City, MO and Larry Manns, Jr. (companion, Tamika Oldham) of Decatur; daughter, Angelique Manns of Decatur; mother, Vela Manns of Decatur; brothers, James A. (Nan) Lee of Chicago, Willie Manns of Lansing, MI, Robert L. (Clematene) and Lester L. (Helen) Manns both of Decatur; sisters: Lavonia Hamlin of Chicago, Sam E. (Arthur) Manns-Perkins of Decatur, Georgia (John) Thomas of Omaha, NE, Larice Manns of Decatur and Alice (Jerry) Bell of Memphis, TN, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 god granddaughter and 3 god great grandchildren.; special loved ones, Ezette White, Ricky White, Michael Jarrett, Anthony White and caregiver, Peggy Trimuel. He was preceded in death by his father Sam Mann, sisters, Lula Mae Shaw, his twin sister, Linda Manns, brother, James Lee, niece, Tammy Manns-Tolliver and nephew, Pernell (Paco) Manns. Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church of the Living God P.G.T. Temple #1 with Overseer Tyrone Cooper, officiating. Visitation one hour before service. Burial: Macon County Memorial Park. Repast will be held at Main Street Church of the Living God following interment.
