Mr. Floyd "Lefty" Harrelson, age 81 of Weches, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Harrelson was born February 2, 1926 in Houston County and was a resident of Houston County most of his lifetime. Mr. Harrelson was a graduate of Lovelady High School where he was on the All State Basketball Team in 1943-1944. Mr. Harrelson was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he served during World War II. Mr. Harrelson was a member of the Augusta Mason Lodge #93 for 40 years and was also a member of the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Harrelson was retired from Diamond Shamrock Chemical Plant where he worked in shipping.

Survivors include his wife Grace Harrelson, of Weches; two daughters Emily Russell and husband Ronnie, of Elkhart and Beverly Gilmore, of Humble; three grandsons Daniel Russell and wife Cindy, of Palestine, Scott Gilmore and wife Mary, of Kingwood and Mark Gilmore, of Humble; one granddaughter Ronda Williams and husband Mike, of Elkhart; seven great-grandchildren; twin sister Floy Hartin, of Rosanky; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceded in death by his parents Christopher and Annie Harrelson; six brothers; and nine sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd "Lefty" Harrelson were held Monday, February 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Craiker officiating. Interment followed in the Weches Cemetery.
