Judith Marva Whipple (79) passed peacefully in her home in Lake Oswego, Oregon, Friday March 22, 2019. Born in Portland Oregon, to Veona Applegate and William Jensen, she was raised by her maternal grandmother Rachel McGrew and her Uncle Lyle McGrew. She graduated from Roosevelt high school where she was on the rally squad. She married Alma Johnstun and later Jay Whipple.
She worked in various jobs including deputy sheriff in Columbia County. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She loved sewing, gardening, music, advanced education and the Boy Scouts of America. She worked hard so that all her sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. She also worked for rights of people with disabilities. Later in life she attended Portland State University where she earned degrees in history and music. Judith was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Brandon, Damon, Jason, Clinton and Jennifer and grandchildren Brina, Saer, Alice, Claire and Isaac.
There will be a service held for Judith April 1, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Visitation will be from 11:00am-12:30pm. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm, with a burial following at Columbia Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception back at the church following the burial.
