Gil was the son of Anton Henry BISJAK & Sophia BANYAY.

Gilford C. Bisjak was born on a homestead in Chino Valley in 1918, one of two sons of immigrant parents from Europe.
He and his brother, Hank Bisjak, farmed in Chino Valley for at least six decades. Bisjak was well-known in the in earlier years as a community leader and an excellent farmer. He and his wife, Frances, were charter members of the Chino Valley Community Church. For many years, he donated the sweet corn used for the church's famous annual corn dinners. He had also been a member of the Lion's Club and served on the school board. But mostly he is remembered for his compassion. He helped people whenever he could and in later years provided potable water for people who did not have wells.
He died peacefully at the Arizona Pioneer's Home on Oct. 24, 2010.
Gil is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances Bisjak; their son, Rev. Gil Bisjak, Jr. of Highland, Calif.; and daughter, Barbara Bisjak, of Renton, Wash.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at the Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
