Evelyn Rosa Ammons Green, 99, of Jesup, died Sunday afternoon after a short illness..

A native of Wayne County and was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and a retired nurse. She enjoyed quilting, taking care of others, and visiting with family and friends.

Her parents are the late Percy L Ammons and Beatrice M. Yarbrough Ammons ; also preceded in death by her husband : Robert “Bobby” Green and by her daughter, Faye (Faith) Chappell;
a grandson, Joel R. Greene, Jr.; her brother: Emory Lee Ammons;
a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Wells Greene;
a son-in-law, G. T. Chappell.

Survivors are her son: Joel R. Greene of Jesup;

Ian (Elaine) Greene and
Sean (Ashley) Greene of Odum,
Kerry (Steve) Smith of Americus, and
Kathy (Chris) Peters of Athens;
(grandchildren,)
Ellie, Will, and Rob Greene, Greg and Ashley Smith, and Thomas Peters;
granddaughter-in-law, Karla Greene.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at Old Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Ledbetter and Rev. Dennie Waters officiating her services following burial into the Screven City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers, Judy Leggett, Jackie Smith, Genell Roberson, Caroline Raines, Julie Carter, Tina Souza, Toni Ray and Staff of Hospice of South Georgia.

A special thank you is extended to the family of the late Jerrie Tyre who was a long-term caregiver.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to service at the church.
