Margaret Ann Opitz, age 88 passed from this life to life eternal on March 10, 2019.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Suzanna (Ross Carmack), sisters Mary Todd and Nancy Larsen (Les), brother Bill Allen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by Harold, her husband of 55 years, brother Bob Allen, and parents Leo and Viola Allen.

Margaret grew up in Rockingham NC. She graduated from Greensboro College with a Bachelors in Religious Education. She moved to the Chicago area to persue her Masters degree. It was there she met her husband, Harold. Margaret spent over 20 years in the DC metro area where she was a homemaker. Moving to NC in 1992, she and Harold were active in Advent Lutheran Church in Chapel Hill. In 2006, they moved to Twin Lakes in Burlington and were active in Redeemer Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Friday, March 22 at 4:00 PM, followed by a fellowship gathering. She will be inurned, with her husband, in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church building fund. Condolences may be sent to
