Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served two years in Vietnam. Following his military service, he worked in the Engineering Department at the Marion VA Hospital and retired after 34 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and Sunnycrest Baptist Church.
Some of Ralph’s favorite pastimes were fishing, as well as watching the Chicago Cubs and NASCAR. He loved to fish, play jokes on people, and spend time with his wife of 44 years. Ralph will also be remembered for his giving heart and how much he loved the Lord and his church family.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; sister, Della Mae Ritchie, Fisty, KY; brother, Hobart Amburgey, Salem; brother-in-law, Larry (Beth) Dilley; sister-in-law, Janice Robinson; nieces and nephews, Anna (Phil) Allen, Angie Drook, Brandi (Andy) Alford, Jammi Dilley-Cox, Darryl (Sudie) Amburgey, Darryl Amburgey Jr., Jordan Drook, Braden Drook, Clayton Drook, Camden Drook, Rylan Cox, Lucas Alford, and Owen Alford; and friends, Brad Collier, Tim (Diane) Packard, and Mike (Robin) Gump.
Also preceding him in death were his son, William Dean Amburgey; grandparents; 10 brothers and sisters; and Pop and Nan Dilley.
Pastor Troy Bishop and Nowell Hardin will be officiating with burial following at Estates of Serenity.
