Thomas Right Holloman was born near in Missouri, the son of Edmund and Mary Barrett Holloman.

He was probably named for the Rev. Thomas Wright, an Methodist-Episcopal itinerant preacher. He was preaching in their community in about 1817-1818.

T. R. went to school in Farmington, MO. And afterward he came to Mississippi in the 1840s. Several reports show that he was a Horse Trader.

He served in Co. E. 46 Miss. Infantry C.S.A during the civil war.

On March 3, 1846 he married Rebecca Cook, daughter of Fielding Cook. They had a number of children, some of which died in childhood.

Sometime after the death of Rebecca he married married a young widow Amanda McKee Curtis, daughter of John McKee of Yazoo Co. MS. Tom and Amanda had no children and they remained married until his death in 1894

He and Rebecca inherited the plantation of her father which came to be known as Eagle Bend. The plantation became the center of the Holloman's in Mississippi for generations.
