Friday Rites at Clay City For Rozella Hickman, Age 95

Rozella "Zella" Hickman, 95 years old, a former resident of Washington Street in Clay City, died Wednesday, December 2, in Good Samaritan Nursing Center at Jasonville. She had been a patient in Glenburn Rest Haven at Linton since 1979. She was moved to the Nursing Center at Jasonville Wednesday, and she died three hours after she arrived there.

She was born in Clay County November 30, 1892. Her parents were Addison Horn and Mary Jane Price Horn.

Her husband, Jess Hickman, preceded her in death, June 19, 1961.

She was also preceded in death by an infant stepdaughter, four brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Aid of the church.

Survivors are her daughters Helen Ruth Squire of Connersville, and Marie Catherine Hickman of Glenburn Rest Haven at Linton; sister Alice Hostetler, R.R. 2, Clay City; brother, Everett Horn of Mt. Union, Iowa; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be at 10;00 a.m. Friday December 4, at the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City. The Rev. Arthur G. Daniel will officiate.

Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery, southeast of Clay City.
