Samuel Cobbe Clark was born on May 7, 1905 in Bedford County, Tennessee, the son of Andrew Lafayette Clark (1854–1941) and Sallie Elizabeth (Arnold) Clark.
He was married as the 1st husband of Susie Mae (Webster) (Clark) Hacker (1909-1993).
A machinist working in a shop and living on Rural Route 1 out of Shelbyville, Samuel was 43 years old and married when he died of an extensive colon tumor on August 18, 1948 at Nashville's Vanderbilt Hospital, where he had been for twelve days. Burial was two days later in Willow Mount Cemetery at Shelbyville.
