Funeral services for Herbert H. Lomax, 78, of Memphis, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Silver Creek Cemetery. He died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Essroc after 41 years, a member of the Memphis United Methodist Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Hobart Beach Post 1693.
Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Dunn; two sons, John Patrick, New Albany and Alan Lomax and wife, Pam, Memphis; four daughters, Grace Whobrey and husband, Alford, Sherry Cook and husband, Bubby, Memphis, Linda Lomax, Underwood and Carla Dabney, New Albany; a brother, Jerry Lomax, Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, June 7.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Memphis United Methodist Church.
