Obit
The Mountain Wave, April 15, 1898, p2, c 2/3 (thanks to Jennifer)
There has been a solemn performance of God's providence here among our people this week. Old Father Arnold, who has been suffering for some time, was called to a higher plain than this-we hope to vie around the throne of God with loved ones gone before. He leaves a companion and children, and many friends to mourn his departure. Uncle Bill, as he was familiarly known, has lived among us for a number of years and has led a quiet life before this world. He was borne to his last resting place by his brothers of the Masonic fraternity and many many friends to rest from all his labors till the day of judgement when the finally faithful shall be welcomed into the joys of the Lord and sweetly sing-Oh grave where is thy Victory! Oh death where is thy Sting! (St. Joe).
