Billy Morace Farrell (AKA Mugs) made his final ride to Heaven on January 13, 2014 from his home in Plano, Texas. He was born the only child to Morace McKee Farrell and Rubye Mae Barnett in Plano, Texas on April 2, 1937. Billy was a graduate of Plano High School's Class of 55. He entered the United States Army in 1957 and served three years in Germany. After military service, Billy joined the Dallas Police Department in 1960 and served there until 1968. After a brief period as a detective for ENSEARCH, INC. and running a family owned business, Reeder Goldfish, he returned to law enforcement in 1977 as Chief of Police in McLendon Chisolm. He joined the Rockwall County Sherriff's Department in 1978 and retired in 2002 after serving under seven different Sherriff's. Billy was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, Texas Chapter XXI. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Plano, Texas, daughter Kim Farrell Bakos and her husband Jesse, granddaughter Sophia, grandson Joshua of Rockwall, Texas, extended family and many friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. S. Hasan and his staff of Amity Hospice for the care and concern given to Billy and the family. Bless all of you. An afternoon of Remembrance will be held at Allen Family Funeral Options on Friday, January 17, 2014 with Words of Remembrance at 3:00 PM. Please dress casually.
