Steve, of Farmington MN, passed away suddenly on March 8, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday March 21, 2019 at 1:00 PM with visitation starting at 11:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Savage. Steve will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, two children, four grandchildren, and a brother. Steve was greeted in Heaven by his son Aaron, his parents and his sister. Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.

Steve was a member of FAG.
From his profile page: "I'm from Minneapolis, MN and have lived in this area all my life. I'm a proud veteran and spent 3 years in the army and I served two tours of duty in Viet Nam, (late 1969-1972). I was wounded twice. I was assigned to The First Cavalry Division and was in the infantry, then a combat engineer and operated a bulldozer. Later I was assigned to aviation and was a crew chief/door gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. I'm a recipient of the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, two Air Medals, two Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Aircraft Crewman Wings and a Marksman Rifle Medal. I'm a former local truck driver of 35 years and a former part time fire photographer for seven years. I was forced to retire in 2004 due to back problems."

Thank you to Rosie Kagarise (Rosie & Moochie) for the above bio.

I would like to add that Steve was one of the first people I met when I joined Find A Grave. He was kind and generous with his time, photographing and recording information on thousands of graves in Ft Snelling National Cemetery, including my father's. He took the photo of my dad's headstone and made it available to me. The next Memorial Day, he went out and put a flag beside the headstone and took another photo of it. That is the one on my bio page. RIP, Steve, and thank you for all the dedication to our veterans. You will be missed by everyone who knew you.

I have added three outstanding photos that were taken by Steve in Ft. Snelling. They are favorites of mine.
