Sparky Stevenson, age 60, passed away March 13, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Born in Winnfield on Friday, November 14, 1958, Sparky was a long-time resident of Winnfield, graduating from Winn Academy in 1977. Sparky moved to Monroe and worked at Manville paper plant for 15 years plus, before going to school to become a crane operator and working in construction. Sparky was a cancer survivor for many years and upon retiring spent his time fishing, traveling, and enjoying family.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Harry and Gladys Stevenson; brother, Richard Stevenson; and sisters, Nelda Carter and Debbie Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dee Stevenson; sons, Chris and Andy Stevenson (Mandi) of Winnfield, Joseph Stevenson (Kasey) of Bienville, and Lance Stevenson (Vanessa) of West Monroe; step-daughters, Jaime Kersh of Baton Rouge, Kennedi Carpenter of Winnfield and Shelley Mis of Natchitoches; 7 grandsons, Austin, Eli, Arden, Rook, and Luke Stevenson, Christian and Jace Carpenter; 6 granddaughters, Lisa, Makayla, McKenzie, and Chloe Stevenson, Marilyn and Camille Mims; his loyal yorkie furbaby “Baby Girl”; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM until service time.

Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Bates officiating.
