Bessie A. Crenshaw - Taylors
Bessie Aiken Crenshaw, 91, of Taylors, died Dec. 30, 2004.
Born in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Martha Jane Dodson Aiken.
She worked as a weaver and was a Baptist.
She also was a member of the Golden Group of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, where she was an associate member.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Nix of Taylors and Martha Crenshaw Cox of Travelers Rest; a son, Dr. James L. Crenshaw and wife, Juanita, of Durham, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Hazel Crenshaw of Six Mile; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Walter B.D. Crenshaw; a son, Jerry Aiken Crenshaw; a son-in-law, Jerome Nix; seven sisters; and a brother.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, with burial to follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Sunset.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621; or to a church or charity of one's choice.
