Jim Davis was born September 13, 1943, where he decided that premature or not, he was going to live a long life. He had a heart attack in ’86 where he became acquainted with Death, then spent the next 33 years leading it on a merry chase. So, it finally caught up to him, and Jim, the wiley old rascal, kicked the bucket on March 11, 2019 from complications with COPD.
He was survived by his wife, Linda, his sons, Dan, Brian, and David Davis, Chris Yother, Kevin Windham, David Logan, Jim Forrester, and Joel Weaver, and his daughters Denise Davis, Kathy Davis, Jolene Yother, Janet Davis, and Milena Weaver, Myra Windham, Cheryl Logan, Sandy Forrester and Angella Tolleson. His children were brilliant enough to gather up in-laws for him to love and aggravate, and that worked out so well, his dynasty began including grandchildren; Ember and Logan Daggs, Trevor Davis, Sydney Davis, Shelby Davis, Tykoda Yother, Katelyn Yother, Kelsey Yother, Justice and Christian Davis, Ryan Davis, Levi Davis, Gracie Robinson, Lexy Robinson, Kate Weaver, and Brant and Kaitlynn Weaver. Makila and Brock Windham, Derrik, Shaylin, and Noah Logan, Austin and Breanna Forrester, and Bryce and Brayden Tolleson. There are also two more victims poised to join the family in the near future, Alma Flores and Tyler Mattox. His great-grandchildren (rotten babies) include Nathan and EverRae Daggs, Will Gullick, Esme and Ella Davis, and MadeLynn and Korbin Weaver and Dakota Forrester.
His family, the Davis clan, populate most of the southern half of Missouri and the upper part of Arkansas, and there are no finer people in the world. His brothers and sisters Dan and Cathy Davis, Punk and Revae Davis, David and Judy Davis, Larry and Becky, Jeanie Clarke and Randy Davis, Janice and Terry Pyles, Charlotte Jones, Donna and Randy Hughey. They provided him with numerous nieces and nephews to love.
Jim was uncompromisingly in love with life, and walked away whistling from things that would kill a normal human being. He was stubborn and took a great deal of pleasure at messing with people. He was and is loved by many. His legacy is one of family and love.
